Gm Will Move to a New Google Infotainment System for EVs

General Motors (GM) has announced it will shift away from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in its future electric vehicles (EVs) in favor of a new Google infotainment system. The update will see drivers unable to project their smartphone display onto the dashboard display and will instead focus on Google-powered features for a more seamless driver experience. The infotainment system will boast native versions of Google Maps as well as Google Assistant alongside Spotify, Audible and many more.

The GM Google infotainment system is slated to arrive first in the 2024 Chevy Blaze EV and will provide impressive benefits for electric vehicle drivers. The system will be able to intelligently react to scenarios to maximize range or optimize charging based on the location of charging stations.
