The Emerging Italian Designers Created Childlike Furniture

The Emerging Italian Designers is a group comprised of eight young designers based in Italy. The group created furniture pieces in response to Rick Owens' clean, brutalist work. Curated by Galerie Philia as part of Milan design week, the exhibition is on view at Spazio CB32 near Fondazione Prada.

The exhibited pieces are stationed alongside pieces by fashion designer Owens, including the well-known antlered table from his Evolution series and the geometric Alchemy chair. Ownes' sharp lines are contrasted against the eight designers' playful contemporary Italian styles. Attali chose the participating designers for their unique styles, which complement and contrast with the gravity of Owens' work. Some participants include Agustina Bottoni, Draga & Aurel, and Pietro Franceschini.
