The Gibson Custom Shop has announced an extremely limited production of a signature guitar model designed in collaboration with musician Dave Grohl. Dubbed the Dave Grohl DG-335 Limited Edition, the instrument is finished in a glossy white. Its hybrid design incorporates visual and structural elements from classic Gibson semi-hollow body guitars.
The Gibson Custom x Dave Grohl DG-335 Limited Edition boasts a construction of a multi-layered wood body with distinctive diamond-shaped sound holes, a solid internal block intended to improve sonic stability, and a neck profile based on a standard Trini Lopez profile. The hardware includes specialized pickups, a TonePros™ ABR-1 bridge with nylon saddles, a locking TonePros Stop Bar tailpiece, and unpotted Custombuckers with aged Alnico 3 magnets.
Each of the fifty units to be produced will include a protective case and will bear the artist's signature on an interior label.
