Nouveau Standard Creates the Collection 12 of Retro Designs

French design firm Nouveau Standard which is founded by Simon Brandeau and Jonathan Fleurance unveils the Collection 12. It is comprised of four furniture structures including a chair, a table, a lamp, and a low chair. The inspiration behind the capsule stems from past eras, nodding to the late 70s. The capsule aims to capture the same essence of parents' bedroom set during that time highlighting two notable shapes: the ball and the cone.

It features a weighted presence as it utilizes heavy wood covered in oak cladding. Fleurance explains the design concept, stating "The overloaded pattern is a nod to the 70s and plays on contrasts with the more primary forms of furniture. We like the idea that furniture can be an actor in our lives which touch us at the intersection of the present and the past."
