British designer Faye Toogood creates the new Bread & Butter collection for Italian furniture imprint Tacchini. The capsule was made with inspiration from her personal ritual of baking sourdough in the morning to relax in a tactile way.
She explains, "Every single morning, I knead, proof, and bake a loaf of bread. Some people have transcendental meditation or prayer. I have my sourdough starter and half an hour of sticky, squashy, floury, sensory, in-the-present pleasure. There are some days when the world caves in… but I find peace and pride in my relentlessly rising loaf. On the daily bread I can depend." The daily work of creating the bread is translated through the soft curves and creamy textures that make up the collection.
