Cake Architecture Creates the Hedonistic Arc Spa in the UK

London design studio Cake Architecture has just completed the Arc, which is a communal wellness facility located in Canary Wharf. There is a sauna which is large enough to welcome 65 people with a lounge amenity in an amphitheater style to bring the same energy as a nightclub. The specialization of Atc is contrast therapy which is a practice which alters between heat and cold to activate the body's response to stress and relaxation.

Cake Architecture creative director Hugh Scott Moncrieff speaks more about the design to Dezeen, "We aimed to create a space that facilitates communal transcendence – an environment that offers a step away from daily life. The challenge was finding a design language that bridged the clean, health-focussed world of wellness and fitness while echoing the hedonistic energy found in dance floors and nightclubs."
