As baby boomers increasingly enter retirement, many have both more time to spend and more money to spend on it, which explains the rationale behind boomer-targeted marketing. The large generational cohort responds to many different styles and forms, and businesses of all sorts have released campaigns that have hit home with boomers.
Cosmetics and fashion are two of the industries that have turned their attention toward boomers, and they've done so by simply highlighting models from the same generation. Maye Musk (Elon Musk's mother) has made a name for herself as a model, dietitian and nutritionist with two master’s degrees—and now, the 69-year-old is also being recognized as the newest CoverGirl ambassador, and even lingerie company Lonely Lingerie is using 56-year-old model Mercy Brewer to push the brand's message of confidence.
