It is truly an honor to look back at all the brilliant art that has been spotted here at Trend Hunter over the last year. And if anyone is worried about how the financial crisis will affect the art world, you can take a big breath of air and relax for now. Things are not so bad. Artists will always make art, especially when faced with crisis and dark times.

The art fairs and art dealers are still seeing art sales, albeit they are coming a little slower. People still love art, need art, and buy it for their homes and souls.

I love the contemporary modern oil paintings, which use old traditional techniques but tweak the content with modern twists on historic scenes, like the Kiss-inspired rock and roll paintings, as well as Alan Macdonald’s portraits that contrast 17th-century oil paintings with modern brands to create an interesting societal juxtaposition.
