Coming from a Germany family, Christmas has always been a really important time for me. Decorations adorn the house and celebrations with friends and family happen throughout the month of December. The first day the advent calendar is opened is on December 1st with events leading up to the 24th of December. Family usually comes together in the early evening, sometimes mass is attended, and then a big festive dinner is followed by presents. Yes, presents on Christmas eve!
