Amsterdam's Beacon Mile is a long city walk stretching from Amsterdam Central Station to Marineterrein guided by hundreds of beacons along the way. When travelers download the associated app, they will be prompted with informative notes on the buildings and attractions as they move past them.

Separately, Munich International Airport is in the fifth year of a particularly unique program entitled Surf & Style. Taking place in August of each year, the annual surfing tournament involves competitors from all over the world as they compete on the world's largest artificial standing wave, located just outside the main terminal.
