Popular crowd funding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo have only been around for a couple years, but in that time, there have been a ton of new ideas, products, services and other crowd-funded projects that have come out of it. Crowd funding is a great way to see if a new concept has a future, even if it is only judged on the responses that come in based on support from online communities. Usually, some of the best ideas have no problem going viral and some exceptional campaigns are even able to raise significantly more than its initial goals.
Aside from just helping to get new product ideas prototyped or launched into the market, the Jamaican bobsled team crowd funded the money it needed to get to Sochi this year, proving that all sorts of dreams can come true.
