I've always had a passion for art and design, but it's taken several post-secondary schools, internships and jobs to discover my love of trend hunting. I graduated Trend Hunter’s Intern Academy in August 2013 and now write as a Contributing Editor.
What is unique that's not in your bio?
I have a penchant for chunky knits and clear objects... really, check out my favorite trends.
What's your favorite accomplishment?
Getting to intern with Trend Hunter is pretty high up on the list.
How do you define cool?
To me, cool is confident and a little offbeat.
What is your secret to uncovering trends?
Find something so cool, weird or innovative you absolutely must share with someone else immediately.
What do you enjoy most about Trend Hunter?
Discovering trend after trend is kind of like getting sucked into watching endless cat videos on YouTube... addictive and amazing.
What is your favorite trend?
I am really loving biomimicry and the emergence of non-standard architecture.
What are your tips for writing a juicy post?
Find interesting visuals that you'd want to click on and read more about. Something that's new, will provoke a reaction and compels people to share.
How do you reset to be creative?
I recharge with good indie music, yoga or taking a walk.
What inspires or excites you?
I'm fascinated by all sorts of design... interiors, architecture, products and graphics. Right now I'm hugely inspired by the creations of fashion blogger Ivania Carpio of Love Aesthetics and hand-drawn typography of Zachary Smith.
