With Facebook's recent purchase of the camera-crazed hipster's favorite free photo editing app, Instagram-inspired photography products have been cropping up all over the snapshot scene.
The app turns any smartphone capture into a hazy-colored, vintage-inspired creation and the app racked up an impressive user-base during its short stint as an independent smartphone feature. Facebook could practically smell the promise in the app and wasted no time gobbling it up and adding to its mecca of social media dominance.
Many similar applications have been developed to compete with the beloved photo editing software, but few have rivaled its massive cult-like following.
Fans are anxiously awaiting the time to come when the app will no longer be a free download, but until then, they will rest on their Instagram throw pillows and rock retro-colored photos on their fridge with pride.
