As Hurricane Ike whirls through Texas, passionate photographers are turning to their SLR cameras and tripods for some creative HDR photography.

Although not all of these images are of Hurricake Ike, the photography in the gallery illustrates how natural disasters act as creative inspiration for artists, just as they have done for humans since the dawn of civilization.

It's hard not to be impacted by a natural wonder as powerful as Hurricane Ike, but its interesting to note the diversity in how people are affected.
