In this brand culture keynote, co-founder and brand architect of Method products Eric Ryan delivers seven competitive advantages to help start-ups succeed. Ryan decided to create cleaning products that created a cultural shift in the industry. One of the most important of the advantages, or obsessions as Ryan calls them, is creating a strong business culture. Believing in this era of transparency, he argues that once you get the culture correct it will set the tone for the rest of the company.
Most importantly, he sees great value in taking recruiting very seriously. Though you may not be able to control your brand on the outside, you can control it on the inside based on who you hire. And, once you articulate a set of values, it is important to ensure that everyone follows them in order to create products and services that fit for a company. Eric Ryan also points out that a creative culture is one of the greatest things an organization can have because when people have fun, they will perform at their best.
