Cable Tie Sculptures

The Zip Tie Massimal is Delicately Ethereal

At first glance, the Zip Tie Massimal looks as though it is crafted out of delicate lights or even a thin layer of snowflakes. Of course, the name of this stunning sculpture gives it away, as it is actually crafted out of zip ties -- 20,000 zip ties to be exact.

Created by United States-based studio Design Office Takebayashi Scroggin (D.O.F.S.), the Zip Tie Massimal is a "1:1 design object that serve as prototypes to examine how physical form can engage the public realm," the designers state. By creating the form of an animal using one material, the result is a docile creature that is very similar to those found in petting zoos.
