Integrated Auto Apps

ZENRIN Datacom Collaborates With the QNX CAR Platform

Following a long list of navigation software providers, ZENRIN DataCom is integrating its mobile app with the QNX CAR Platform.

The company's Mo NAVI Drive 2013 application, which provides information on nearby parking and fluctuating fuel prices, as well as offering other location-based services, will now be available via the QNX CAR Platform, a union which was demonstrated at the Smartphone Japan Conference in Tokyo.

This newfound collaboration showcases the ways that automakers can infiltrate a larger developer community. A ZENRIN DataCom representative explains, "A cross-platform concept is key as it enables apps to run on both smartphones and vehicle head units with minimal changes. The QNX CAR Platform, with its rich support for mobile application environments, is a very attractive feature for app developers in the mobile world.”
