For the last five years, Yves "Jetman" Rossy has been world renowned for his ability to take flight wearing little more than carbon-fiber wings and four jet engines modified from model aircraft engines. After the last half-decade of impressive jumps, Yves Jetman Rossy may have produced his most memorable one after successfully sustaining flight over the Grand Canyon for 8 minutes.
The flight was not without its trouble: his flight was delayed a day over permit issues, much to the chagrin of a small but dedicated crowd that gathered to see him. But the delay did not take any joy away from the Jetman after completing his jump. "My first flight in the U.S. is sure to be one of the most memorable experiences of my life," Rossy said. "Not only the sheer beauty of the Grand Canyon but the honor to fly in sacred Native American lands."
