YouTube Premiere Unveiled New Updates to Its Pre-Show Experience
Riley von Niessen — December 4, 2020 — Social Media
YouTube’s Premiere service, which lets users watch new content together virtually, has announced three new features as a part of the platform’s latest update, including Live Redirect, Trailers, and Countdown Themes. The update provides YouTube creators with several customization options that all focus on the experience up until the Premiere.
Live Redirect offers creators the ability to create a livestream preshow, which begins before the Premiere, and eventually ushers viewers to content. The Trailers feature allows for prerecorded videos between the lengths of 15 seconds to three minutes, which then then play on Watch pages prior to a Premiere. Lastly, the Countdown Themes feature provides a variety of moods and themes that can be used to tailor the countdown video show.
While the features for Live Redirect and Trailers are currently being issued to eligible creators, the Countdown Themes feature is expected to launch later on.
