Creator-Boosting Platform Features

The YouTube Hype Feature Boosts Smaller Creators in Explore

The YouTube Hype feature introduces a new way for fans to actively support creators with fewer than 500,000 subscribers. Viewers can hype up to three videos each week, and every hype adds points that push the content higher on a dedicated leaderboard in the Explore section. To give smaller creators more visibility, YouTube includes a point multiplier, ensuring their videos have a stronger chance to trend.

Hyped videos display a “hyped” badge and can be filtered on the Home feed for easy discovery. Dedicated fans also earn hype star badges each month, while notifications alert them when videos they’ve supported approach the leaderboard. Creators can track all this activity with a new Hype card and weekly recap available in the YouTube Studio mobile app.

Launched globally across 39 countries, including the US, UK, Japan, Korea, India, and Indonesia, the feature aims to help emerging creators grow their audience and reach new fans more effectively.
