Yaoyuan Airport in Taiwan will soon receive a revitalizing renovation that will see a brand new open-air terminal built. The new terminal will be inspired by a city center or central gathering spot that is typically seen in metropolitan areas. Rather than focusing on travel, architects and designers hope that the new look Yaoyuan Airport will be a positive representation of what the rest of the country has to offer.

The new airport will be beautifully lit and acoustically comfortable, where a traveler's comfort is put first. The new terminal will house boarding gates, concourses, a multifunctional building and a transportation hub. Yaoyuan Airport's renovation will be inspired by Taiwan's landscapes, seas and natural life. The new terminal will also be covered by an elegant hard-shell roof, with an interior that forms a new kind of a vibrant ‘aero’ city.
