Family-Owned Social Businesses

Yala is a Lifestyle Company with Ethical Clothing and Accessories

If you look through Yala's promotional photos, it's something out of a J.Crew or Tommy Hilfiger advertisement campaign. By that, I mean that it's full of smiling women in their simple kitchens and bedrooms. But Yala is a family-owned social business that supports over 15 charitable organizations and foundations such as The Children's Miracle Network, Southern Oregon Land Conservancy, Youth Symphony of Southern Oregon and the Ashland Independent Film Festival. According to the Yala website, the idea for its social mission is "Think globally, act locally. (And vice versa.)"

The products offered at Yala range from women's clothing, for instance, simple striped tees, pyjama sets, organic cotton tunics, men's lounge pants, toddler clothing, bedding and bath accessories and travel goods.
