CULTIVATE is a design house that, as many Dutch designers do, explores the extreme edges of puns. They are very toung-and-cheek with their designs. The “Woofer” speakers push the puns way over the top into being a cultish kitsch gem. The woofer speakers are built in the shape of the original woofers: dogs. The dog they have emulated for the speaker box is a pug. The pug has, unfortunately, had his head cut off, and a speaker placed in its neck hole. I've never thought I'd say this about speakers, but they are cute and cuddley.
