For the 2012 'Wood Be' collection by CJY, a London-based designer combined organic and synthetic materials into long draping dresses and lengthy skirts. This collection combines, connects and integrates contrasting materials such as solid woods and fabrics together to create awe-inspiring architectural clothing constructions.
CJY's clothing series aims at creating organic movements through the use of fringes, wooden disks, strings and rope that have been ingeniously infused with clothing. These wonderfully wooden fashions add an interesting twist to traditional fashions, through striving to be more architecturally inspired and more free-flowing. This collection aims "to explore the idea of using natural alternative materials and refine traditional techniques of woods and crafts." The 'Wood Be' collection by CJY, made up of futuristic frocks and sleekly structured skirts is runway ready, but may not be so perfect for everyday wear.
