Walmart Unveils a New Shopping by Text Feature for Mobile Shoppers

Walmart’s brand new technology-focused innovation is a new feature that allows consumers to tackle their grocery shopping through a text message. The ‘Text to Shop’ platform, which was created with Walmart’s Global Tech team, gives consumers the ability to text “reorder” to have previously purchased items readded to the checkout cart. Consumers can also text things like “I need milk” to bring up an add-on menu with pricing options for milk-specific products. This feature also works with other items from local Walmart stores and from the retailer’s online website. Additionally, consumers can set a time for pickup or delivery using these text options.

The retail space continues to shift to prioritize seamless, streamlined shopping experiences that are unique. With the new ‘Text to Shop’ options, consumers can enjoy the convenience of text-based grocery lists that make the shopping experience that much easier.
