The Volvo Concept Coupe is Designed to Be Beautiful and Safe

Despite its unimaginative name, the Volvo Concept Coupe is reportedly taking the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show by storm. The latest concept from the Swedish automaker is sexy, to say the least. Volvo has long been known as the leader in automotive safety, with looks taking a backseat on many models. However, the automaker has been attempting to revamp its image over the past few years, and its efforts appear to be paying off.

The Volvo Concept Coupe is powered by a hybrid engine made up of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine pushing the front wheels and an electric engine that powers the rear wheels. The entire system is said to put out 400 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. While those numbers are nice, it's the look of the concept that's important. While its unlikely that this coupe will ever see the road, it'll probably lend many of its features to future Volvo models.
