Steel Bathroom Materials

Vitreon Steel Uses Enamelled Steel to Create Ultra-Thin Bathroom Fixtures

Vitreon Steel uses enamelled steel to create ultra-thin bathroom fixtures developed by Swiss bathroom brand Laufen. The collection replaces traditional ceramic construction with formed steel coated in a glass-like enamel surface. This material shift allows fixtures to be produced at a reduced thickness while maintaining strength, durability, and resistance to moisture. Steel forming enables sharper edges, tighter radii, and more precise geometries than ceramic manufacturing methods.

The collection includes washbasins designed to integrate with standard bathroom fittings and installation systems. Components are shaped using industrial metal-forming processes, then coated with enamel fused at high temperatures to create a smooth, non-porous surface. The enamel finish is resistant to heat, chemicals, and everyday wear. By using steel rather than ceramic, the fixtures are lighter in weight and easier to transport while meeting functional requirements for daily bathroom use.
