'Viewpoint' from AOR Lets Londoners Get in Touch with Nature
Michael Hines — February 7, 2014 — Lifestyle
Londoners looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life will want to swing by the Camley Street Natural Park to check out Viewpoint from AOR. Viewpoint, designed by a trio of Finnish architects, is exactly what its name suggests. The floating structure allows those who have grown weary of the city a chance to relax in nature, and is a prime spot for viewing wildlife.
AOR drew inspiration for the design of Viewpoint from Laavus, primitive shelters made using found materials that Finns would create on hunting or fishing trips to escape the weather. The structure that sits on the water of Regents Canal is a bit more refined and is built with wood and concrete as opposed to branches. Viewpoint from AOR is set to open to the public on February 10.
