The VeriGreen Plus Was Created by eGreen and Polymateria

Single-use packaging is about to get a big overhaul with the VeriGreen Plus bio-based cup that aims to transform the drinking vessel into a more sustainable solution. The biotransformable cup was developed through a collaboration between eGreen International and Polymateria, and is capable of being fully recycled through existing curbside programs. The cup, however, is also capable of safely breaking down should it not be properly disposed of without leaving any toxic residues or microplastics behind.

The VeriGreen Plus bio-based cup will be debuted at the Packaging Innovations & Empack 2026 in the UK that's taking place from February 11 to 12, 2026. The cups are crafted from a material that's fossil fuel-free and achieved using recycled cooking oil, and will start to self-destruct when exposed to heat, sunlight, air and moisture after use.
