For businesses of all sizes, rent on office space is one of the priciest regular expenses, and VergeSense is a new system that helps both business owners and office building managers to make better, more efficient use of their space. The system consists of inexpensive sensors embedded with AI software, and it uploads its data analyses to the cloud to give users a better idea of how to allocate the space they have.
The VergeSense sensors are embedded with an image sensor that takes video, an infrared motion sensor, and audio capability. Rather than uploading the raw data that these sensors collect straight to the cloud (and using up valuable bandwidth in the process,) the sensors also come with a built-in processor that pre-analyzes the data before uploading it.
Once in the cloud, users can look at the analyses to save money on space. For instance, they might decide to convert open space into conference rooms if the preexisting rooms are always full, or they could subdivide a room into smaller spaces if it is frequently used by too few people.
