Vegan Blue Cheeses

Les Petits Veganne Makes 'Le Bleu Lorrain' with Cashews and Coconut Cream

'Le Bleu Lorrain' is a vegan blue cheese from Les Petits Veganne -- a new venture from 28-year-old vegan entrepreneur Anne Guth that specializes in making plant-based cheeses. The nut-based blue cheese is made from a few simple ingredients: raw, organic cashews, organic coconut cream, filtered water, salt and cultures.

A growing demand for plant-based alternatives to conventional dairy products has inspired the creation of many vegan cheese products over the past few years. While many of these vegan-friendly cheeses exist in categories of their own, many cheese lovers still remain skeptical about how plant-based alternatives could possibly recreate the look and taste of favorites like mozzarella and cheddar. As Guth sees it, "The most difficult thing was to create vegan 'cheeses' that appear visually beautiful."

Les Petits Veganne also produces vegan Camembert cheese, a garlic soft cheese and other flavorful dairy-free alternatives.
