There seem to be more and more light fixture concepts cropping up that focus on flexibility. Among these is the Urglass Lamp, which enables its user to easily move it about the room and illuminate a range of activities in different places.

The delightful design by Ellen Thomas is based around the familiar form of a drinking glass with a tall cylindrical profile. It's been given a frosted translucent finish so that it gently diffuses the bright lightbulb inside. A white-painted wireframe structure surrounds the container, giving it a protruding handle on one side and a sort of circular pedestal. The Urglass Lamp can be set down in either orientation, but this particular component allows the red sheathed electrical cord to be wound around or uncoiled depending on its distance from the socket.
