These stunning shots of urban Chicago captured by photographer Michael Salisbury include a Polar Vortex-induced fog. Combined with the city lights, the clouds rolling over the Windy City are reminiscent of the curse encapsulating the fictional town of Storybrooke, Maine in ABC's Once Upon a Time.
The magical images explore Salisbury's hometown from a variety of perspectives. In some we are looking up at the sky with the looming skyscrapers of urban Chicago towering above us. In others we are above the majestic fog, seeing all the city lights expanding into the horizon. The symmetrical compositions are not only beautifully hued, but also add an interesting visual element to high rise buildings not clouded in fog.
