This Unusual Wedding Theme is Crawling with Bugs

Tessa and Matthew are a couple who chose an extremely unusual wedding theme for their big day. Tessa is an artist "known for her work consisting of insect carcasses, plant roots and other found materials" and the theme of her wedding reflects just that.

Although this theme is enough to give some people the creepy crawlies, the couple committed to it wholeheartedly -- bugs made an appearance almost everywhere at this wedding. Tessa's custom dress was adorned with flowers and golden beetles and she even donned a shiny beetle-encrusted headpiece. As well as crawling all over the bride, the venue included table runners with insect prints and place cards with different insects to represent each guest.

Instead of opting for a traditional cake, the newlyweds were represented on the top of their wedding cake with their heads on the bodies of caterpillars.
