Electric vehicle charging stations are about to get a whole lot more efficient thanks to the news of the Porsche and BMW ultra-fast DC chargers that are reported to offer a full charge in just 15 minutes.
The 450kW charger is about three and nine-times the capacity of the existing charging stations out there, and is reported to also automatically adjust itself to handle electric vehicles of all makes. Compatible vehicles can be charged to offer 62 miles of driving range in just three minutes, which could break down range anxiety issues for drivers who might be holding off on an electric vehicle because of it.
The Porsche and BMW ultra-fast DC chargers have been announced, but no word on where or when they might be deployed has been made public.
