The TYPE 3 MN Blends Marc Newson’s Design with Ressence Engineering

— December 5, 2025 — Fashion
TYPE 3 MN is a limited edition watch created by Marc Newson in collaboration with Ressence, built around the brand’s signature oil-filled display system. The model features a 45 millimeter Grade 5 titanium case with a double-domed sapphire crystal that curves into the caseband to minimize visible edges.

The upper chamber is filled with oil, allowing the rotating discs of the display to appear close to the surface for enhanced legibility. The indicators are engraved and treated with blue and green luminous material for improved visibility in low light. The dial layout remains true to the ROCS system, showing hours, minutes, day, date, and a running indicator.

The automatic movement delivers a power reserve of approximately 36 hours and includes an oil temperature function to track performance. The watch is paired with a synthetic rubber strap and a titanium buckle to keep the weight low. Production is limited to 80 pieces, emphasizing the collaborative nature and collectible intent of the release.
