Freeloading Tax Ads

TurboTax's Freeloader Ad Promotes Its Services Using a Relatable Scenario

TurboTax's Freeloader ad simply and lightheartedly promotes its services through the use of a highly relatable scenario. In the ad, a man is walking through his father's garage while a TurboTax representative speaks to some of the company's tax options. The father asks the son why he's using this service, as the father typically files his son's taxes. The son then explains to the father that through this service, he is able to speak with a representative and file his taxes for free.

The ad closes with the father lightheartedly asking the TurboTax employee if he's able to list his son as a dependent due to the fact that he eats all of the food in his house.
