This Turbocharged Car's Electric Compressor Attunes Its Emission Levels

The brand new Audi SQ7 is a high-tech turbocharged car that is unique in that it features a pair of powerful turbochargers in addition to a special electric compressor. This sort of setup was devised to get around the problem of turbo lag, an engine phenomenon that results in undesirably high emission numbers.

This particular vehicle comes powered by a 4-liter turbo-diesel V8 engine that is capable of pumping out a considerable 435 horsepower in addition to an exceptional 900 Nm of torque. This setup allows the vehicle to quickly jump from zero to 100 km/h in only 4.8 seconds on its way to attaining a top speed of 250 km/h, enough to leave other cars on the road looking decidedly second best.

Ultimately, the key selling point of this turbocharged car is its electric compressor setup, which works in conjunction with the conventional turbochargers to make engine functioning maximally efficient. At a time when emission requirements are tightening around the world, this is a hugely desirable and timely technological intervention in what is already a powerfully impressive vehicle.
