"La Librairie Itinérante" translates to "the traveling bookstore," and it does just as it suggests. Making its way through France, the mini bookstore plans to visit communities both large and small, providing free literature to those who don't have access to a bookstores. Working and living from the inside, bookseller Jean-Jacques plans to travel throughout the country, spreading literature.
The bookstore was made from a re-purposed trailer and once inside, looks like a legitimate store, equipped with high shelving and a sitting area where visitors can relax while enjoying a new book. Jean-Jacques bookstore features a small loft area above the bookshelves that's just large enough to fit a double bed.
The traveling bookstore is an example of both accessible education and a revival of classic nostalgia, like paperback books.
