Like many travel city guide apps, 'People Make Places Tokyo' covers noteworthy shops, restaurants and bars that tourists should check out when they are in the area. Where People Make Places sets itself apart is by putting a spotlight on the people behind these incredible local businesses, offering content for Tokyo residents to enjoy as well.
The app includes a map and location information, as well as pre-written Japanese taxi cards that can be given to drivers for easy discovery of some of Tokyo's best spots. While the app is not free to download, it works like a magazine that's updated monthly with new content.
As of the fall, People Make Places plans to offer a membership-based Concierge service that will work as a P2P network for exploring Tokyo.
