The Welcome App Provides Personalized Tourist Recommendations

The Welcome app is a newly launched platform that combines intelligence, recommendations, personalization, photos, and videos to guide users through new cities. Established by Peter Gerard, Mark Armendariz, and Mark Essel, Welcome allows users to watch videos about places around the world and map them out for a personalized travel experience.

To receive a customized travel guide, the app prompts each user to follow a series of publishers whose content is used to help inform Welcome's recommendations. Users can scroll their home feed to view places of interest, all visible on the app's map. The map includes filters to view a subset of places. In addition, users can add their own destination photos and tips to guide other visitors on the app.
