Trash Bin Mosaics

Thanks to a series of volunteers, these striking Oakland trash bins have been covered in colorful mosaics, literally transforming trash into treasure. These eye-catching mosaics help to turn public eyesores into stunning works of art.

These artistic volunteers have managed to liven up over sixty trash bins in total, making it hard to pass through Oakland without spotting one. Because there are so many different contributing artists involved with this project, there are no two mosaics alike. One incorporates a wolf surrounded by stunning scenery, and another features a heart with colorful beams shooting out from its sides.

The 'Keep Oakland Beautiful' community group proudly supports this crafty project, and why not? The volunteers involved in this mosaic crusade have helped to make these trash bins look as great as their surroundings.
