Shoe designer Tracey Neuls has recently launched a line of footwear targeted at bikers. Working with Tokyobike, Neuls created a line of shoes that makes it easier to pedal and to be seen by cars at night. Her shoes are made with rubber soles that were molded into one piece, helping the shoe fit comfortably against a bike pedal.
The safety aspect of the shoes comes from a reflective patch attached to the heel. This patch alerts cars to the rider and should go a long way to increase safety when paired with traditional reflectors and other bike safety gear. Perhaps the best thing about Tracey Neul's new cycling shoes is that they look quite stylish. Who says there has to be fashion compromises in the name of safety?
