Architecture firm SOM has been commissioned to build a tower in Gothenburg, which will be the highest in the city. With a sleek finish and twisted sculpture, it will surely stand out on the skyline.
SOM beat out other well known architects such as Zaha Hadid to achieve this spot for a variety of reasons. One of the main points that played a factor, however, was how the team ensured the building was well-integrated with the surrounding urban environment. Considering how tall the structure will be, it's important that it works with the already-existing buildings in the area instead of hindering them. Moreover, it helped that the skyscraper was so unique in design, so that it will really add a sense of intrigue to the skyline.
