Top Gear continue the trend of using clever Facebook apps to engage with their audience on Facebook and beyond. Following on from previously asking their fans to suggest their next celebration, Top Gear is now putting together a CD of the best driving tunes of all time.
Whereas previously the process of choosing the tracks would have taken place behind closed doors, it has now been opened up to the public who can now submit their suggestions via their Facebook page by simply entering the song title and artist name.
Current favorites include 'Run to the Hills' by Iron Maiden and 'The Passenger' by Iggy Pop. If you have a driving tune that you love, head over to their page and make a suggestion to be considered.
Implications - The power of Facebook continues to be harnessed by brands through interesting apps that increase the level of interaction between brand and fans alongside acting as a tool for gaining new fans. What’s more, and perhaps more importantly, it’s now possible for a community to influence a brand's actions.
