Words can barely begin to describe the unusual images from Toilet Paper by Pierpaolo Ferrari. The surreal spreads are the result of collaborative work between the acclaimed photographer and the eccentric artist Maurizio Cattelan. They have produced a series of truly remarkable captures with the help of realistic props, theatrical staging and some photo manipulation -- I hope.
Some of the more surprising pictures in Toilet Paper by Pierpaolo Ferrari involve dismembered or dissociated body parts, like a set of severed fingers and an ear floating in yellow soup. Suggestions of murder, suicide and castration can be found amidst these photographs, which would have made this June 2010 issue of the peculiar magazine a truly a truly shocking thing to behold.
