A group of researchers and engineers working out of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research have developed a wonderfully innovative toilet cleaning and monitoring system, dubbed the Restroom Visitilizer System, that is designed to monitor toilets and then signal when it's time for them to be cleaned.
This particular gadget is capable of tracking how frequently restrooms are used. It is equipped with special sensors that enable it to measure odor levels of ammonia, which is found in urine, as well as hydrogen sulphide, which is found in feces. The technology is currently on trial at more than 60 different public toilets around Singapore.
What's great about this gadget is that it ensures toilet cleaning is carried out in a timely manner. In addition to allowing for more present restroom visits, the system could also improve public health through toilet hygiene.
