The next step in the merger process is with the California Public Utilities Commission. The merger between T-Mobile and Sprint will also attempt to provide 97% of United States customers access to 5G cell service within a time period of three years.
Judge Marrero was the district judge who signed off on the merger, and stated, "T-Mobile has redefined itself over the past decade as a maverick that has spurred the two largest players in its industry to make numerous pro-consumer changes."
