Arc’teryx’s Sperro SV is the first product developed under the brand’s System 0 circular-design framework, made with GORE-TEX Pro ePE and recycled ECONYL nylon. The jacket uses a 70D three-layer shell that is waterproof, windproof and breathable, with an FC0 DWR treatment for added weather protection.
The Sperro SV draws on rescue-team and PRO-series equipment and was tested with mountain professionals. Features include a helmet-compatible StormHood, harness-friendly hand pockets, a large chest pocket, pit zips and a RECCO reflector. The shell weighs 502 grams, has a regular fit and measures 78 centimeters at the back in size medium, positioning it for hiking, climbing and ski touring.
Circularity is built into the design, with every component intended to be repairable through ReBIRD, including a replaceable zipper slider. A laser-etched QR code serves as a digital product passport for materials, care and repair information, while Arc’teryx offers unlimited repairs for the first three years and plans to recycle recoverable nylon components through Aquafil.

Key Themes Behind This Trend
- Repairable Performance Apparel
- Premium outdoor garments built for modular repairs and extended service lives create room for durability-led business models in categories traditionally driven by seasonal replacement.
- Digital Product Passports
- Embedded QR-based material, care and repair records enable greater transparency across ownership cycles, resale channels and end-of-life recovery systems.
- Circular Technical Textiles
- High-performance recycled fibers and recoverable components are reshaping waterproof outerwear by connecting advanced functionality with closed-loop material strategies.
Where This Applies
- Outdoor Apparel
- Mountain and adventure gear brands can differentiate through repair ecosystems, professional-grade testing and circular materials that support longer-lasting customer relationships.
- Textile Recycling
- Specialized nylon recovery and regeneration networks are becoming more valuable as technical apparel brands design products with separable, recyclable components.
- Sporting Goods Retail
- Retailers in hiking, climbing and ski categories gain new relevance from services tied to product care, repair access, authentication and lifecycle information.
