Titanic Belfast, the world-leading visitor attraction in Northern Ireland, has launched a series of new accessibility initiatives designed to create a more inclusive and welcoming experience for all guests. The venture includes the introduction of Sensory Backpacks and Quiet Sessions.
The Sensory Backpacks, available to borrow free of charge, are thoughtfully themed around animals associated with the Titanic and contain a variety of items such as ear defenders, sunglasses for brighter areas, emotions and senses cards, fidget and sensory toys, drawing materials, smelling cubes with aromas linked to the ship, a visual contents list, and a sensory trail. These backpacks are primarily designed for children aged five to twelve, but are available to any visitor who may benefit from additional sensory resources during their visit.
Titanic Belfast's Quiet Sessions offer guests the opportunity to explore the Titanic Experience in a calm environment with reduced noise and softer lighting. It allows individuals who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere to move through the galleries at their own pace.
